The United Nations General Assembly declared 2001 as the International Year of Volunteers so as to celebrate volunteerism, a way to build respect, trust, understanding and solidarity between generations. Hongkong Post has celebrated the 10th anniversary of this International Year of Volunteers with an issue, on March 29, 2011, of a series of four stamps.
